Ready for FALL!

Halloween always sneaks up on me. Every fall I’m the mom scrambling around for ideas the week before, and sewing last minute costumes at 2am before class parties… Well I’m proud to say - NOT THIS YEAR!

I mainly have Knox to “thank” for that. I don’t know what brought it up, but we got on the subject of Halloween a few weeks ago. I asked Knox what he wanted to be and he said IRON MAN! (Shocker.) He was so excited about it that we got online to look at costumes. We found one super awesome one with a light AND muscles. There was no way I was going to talk him out of it. After a solid week of him asking me about it, I finally just got online and ordered it. I‘m pretty sure every other 4yr old boy is going to be an Avenger this year, so at least this way I won’t end up at Wal-Mart 2 days before, fighting tooth and nail for a costume…

Every time the door bell has rang since we ordered it, Knox comes running saying Is it my Iron Man suit?!?? Well yesterday it actually WAS :)

I couldn’t have opened that box fast enough. He’s one excited little boy!

I had the upmost intentions of putting it straight in the closet until Halloween, but it was pretty clear that wasn’t going to happen without a fight…

Oh well. This made his day/week and that’s all that matters. So what if we have to replace the light batteries a few times before Halloween.

The costume is great but the helmet it came with is kind of flimsy so we traded it out for his “real” Iron Man helmet he already had. Now he looks legit!

I ordered Miss Hadley’s as well. She was dead set on being Li-bia (Olivia), but I relish being able to pick cutesy costumes for my kids when they’re this small. We compromised for a Squiggly Piggy…

Eeeeek! I think I’ve seen this costume online for the past 2 years, but it never gets any less cute. I let her try it on to check the size, but we WILL be saving hers back for Halloween.

The cuteness is killing me!!!

She wears it well, and as far as it’s concerned in our house… She’s Olivia ;)

So there you have it - my kids Halloween costumes in August. So much for the surprise factor. Hurry up FALL!!!

Holy cuteness with Hadley's costume! I was so sad last year when my boys were dead set on being a ninja and Dash from Incredibles. I'll just enjoy having my sweet girl to pick costumes out for now.

Totally cute! Both of them! You are so crafty that I bet you could remove the black bow and add a red outfit and tights to make Olivia?! Regardless she is the cutest piggy I have ever seen! :)

They both look precious! I agree about cutesy costumes while you're still able to have a say. My daughter is 18 months old and I thought about making a couture-like {good} witch costume, but I think I'll settle on a poodle or a pig from Pottery Barn because they're too cute to pass up and she has forever to be big girl. They grow so fast =(

I'm debating between a pig and a strawberry for my little one. :)

We started the great costume search this week.

Love Hadley's costume! You are so right about the avengers. Mine are wanting to be Captain America and the other one is torn between Iron Man or Hulk! haha Instead of that Toy Story boom like last year, it will be the Avengers boom this year!

Oh my cuteness! I could smother Hadley in kisses, except that would be weird since I only "know" you through your blog. HA. she is the sweetest pig ever! And Knox is a very handsome avenger!!

Super cute!!! I love how excited kids get about stuff like that. I need to get on the ball and figure out what the twins will be--the boys will want to be a Superhero of some sort I'm sure! I am beyond ready for fall too--I used my crockpot yesterday so I totally pretended it was already fall!

Ha! Oh my goodness, they both look precious!!! Boys costumes are fun, but I am seriously looking forward to dressing up my little girl for her 1st Halloween this year! :) My son just told me he wants to be a firework this year... not sure how I'm gonna pull that one off, lol!
