Our First House Guests

Oh my gosh, this summer [slash YEAR] has flown by! I just saw a friend post something on Facebook about school starting tomorrow and I just can’t believe that… Needless to say, time is going too fast for me - I still need to update on LAST weekend’s trip to the lake. Sheesh.

THIS weekend my mom and sister drove in from Tennessee to visit. They were our first official house guests in the new house :) That’s the majority of this post, but first I’ll go ahead and share the only other pics/updates I have from last week…

Wednesday the kids and I met up with a few friends over lunch time to show our love for Chick-fil-A.

Hadley wasn’t quite as thrilled as Knox ;) She’s been working on several new teeth this week AND gearing up for being TWO. She’s been a mess!

Hmmm, that would be a little sneak peek of something else I did last week….. More on that in 3-6 weeks! :)

Sweet baby cakes playing outside on Thursday…

Ok, now for Mom and Mandy’s visit… They got in Thursday evening and we all went out to dinner at Del Frisco’s…

The kids were great and DF definitely ranks in my top 2 choices for steak… Everything was delicious!

My mom and Knox. Why does he look so big :(

Friday morning Mom went with Hadley and me to ballet. She got the biggest kick out of watching the class, and she agrees that H is the best one ;) She got pictures on her camera, but I forgot to steal them before she left… I also registered H for fall classes!

After ballet we decided to do something “fun”… Everytime we drive past NP Mall Knox begs to “see the turtles.” So we figured we’d take him the kids for a quick trip to see the turtles… HA! Yeah, that turned in to a 5 hour shopping trip. No such thing as a “quick trip” to NP :) Mom and Mandy actually did most of the shopping but I did score a few wardrobe staples…

BR was having an extra 40% off flash sale. I picked up a causal blazer - originally $160 - for $45. And the jeans were under $20. I can never have enough jeans in the fall and winter.

I also found Iron Man and Captain America kid aprons at William Sonoma for just $4 each. We made a separate trip to TJMaxx later on…

Navy BCBG shirt dress. Will look cute with nude heels…

How do y’all feel about leopard print jeans??! I keep seeing them everywhere for fall and I love this brand so I had to try them… I think I like them!

Saturday we took the kids to a really great park at one of the childrens hospitals.

…Afterwards we ran several errands and stopped for MONSTER YOGURT (no pics) before heading back home for nap time. Saturday night we met up for dinner at El Fenix with some of my parents old high school friends who now live here. And Sunday Mom and Mandy headed back to Tennessee.

Other than all that - James has been pretty busy with work lately. We’ve been having lots of fun watching the Olympics. Hadley thinks she’s one of the Fab 5, she flips and presents to the crowd right along side our girls…

I can’t remember, have I introduced our pet squirrels??? It’s true. We have 2 fat, lazy, not-the-least-bit skiddish squirrels living in the backyard tree outside our bedroom window. We get a big kick out of watching them. The one above loves to lay in that same spot. He has a little nest dug out in to the ground. When the sprinklers are on he lays belly-up with his eyes half closed. It’s pretty hysterical.

See what I mean? He’s totally relaxed and, I swear, is mocking me!

Love Del Friscos, but III Forks is my fav. One of many things I miss about home. {Dallas} If you've never been to III Forks, you need to try it. :)

Yum! El Fenix! I grew up in Dallas but have since moved to San Antonio and miss EF soo much! We obviously have tons of good mexican food down here but it is nothing like El Fenix! I was going to post a comment a couple of weeks ago because I thought I recognized the EF background in one of your pictures but decided I'd probably sound like a crazy person if I did :).

Hope y'all have a great week!
