Half Bath Re-Do

The smallest room in our house is [mainly] re-done!

The half bathroom sits off the laundry room, which sits off our kitchen at the back of the house and leads to the garage. (If that makes sense.)

Here are the Before’s

This is the bathroom any guests would use, so I wanted it to be a little prettier. We’re fortunate that most of the plumbing throughout the house has been updated.

I fell in love with the color I chose for my sewing room, so I used the leftovers in the half bath. It’s Winter’s Day by Martha Stewart (from Home Depot) in an eggshell finish. I used the paint with primer since I was painting over glossier walls in both rooms. It took 1 coat trimming out with a brush, and 2 coats rolling.

Here are the half bath After’s

I love the paint color in here! I’d describe it as a dusty blue… Not bad at all for cheap paint :)

Details:

  • Paint - Winter’s Day by Martha Stewart
  • Replaced mirror - Home Good’s.
  • Replaced toilet paper and towel holders - Home Good’s.
  • Replaced blinds with bamboo shades - Lowe’s.
  • Light fixture - Home Depot.
  • Jute rug - Home Good’s.
  • Extra toilet paper roll holder and plug-in candle warmer - Wal-Mart.

And FYI…

I totally installed the blinds and bath fixtures all by myself!!! (And did not leave any extra 1 inch holes in the wall this time…)

Now I just need to monogram some hand towels and then I can feel good about marking this room off my list :)

Girl, you are a painting machine! I'm so impressed by how much you have finished in such a short amount of time.

I've been following your blog for awhile now and absolutely adore all the cute clothes you make and personalize for your kiddos. I have a quick question for you...when you have time to answer, of course. :-)

I bought a Brother SE-440 as a starter machine 2 weeks ago and had problems with it right out of the box. Brother wasn't able to help, so I sent it back to Amazon. Now I'm hoping to replace it with the 770 since you had such a great review written here, but am nervous! Have you had any issues with your machine? Any tips on what thread to buy, etc?

Thanks!!
