Y’all I just can’t get with it blog-wize lately… I guess part of it is laziness, but things have also been sort of nuts lately. I really need to clone 3 more of me just to get through this week.
But before I get too far behind, here’s whatever’s on my phone. These first several are from Memorial Day weekend…
Knox and I went out for pizza after Speech Therapy that Saturday…
He was hamming it up good, which doesn’t happen often, so you get to see them all :)
I can’t decide if this is my favorite of Hadley’s summer bishops or not, but it’s definitely top 3! I love that it’s not over the top stars and stripes, but it’s still subtly patriotic. (These are the thoughts that occupy my brain…) She’s worn it lots but it was especially perfect for Memorial Day :)
Knox and I were walking outside when all the sudden he stopped and said “I have to scratch my back…”
OMG! My Dad is the only person I know who actually does this, so I’m blaming him!
Hadley graduated to a Puddle Jumper this year (she was REALLY excited about wearing it) and she’s done so well it it!
We went to the pool over Memorial Day…
And I made brisket tacos for the first time ever…
YUMMY!!!
How would we ever survive without our own personal Iron Man???
She looks so funny here!
I love Memorial Day for many reasons, one of those reasons is the SALES!
So much cuteness! My bargains made for one super fun mail week. (Although I think James may lose it if he sees one more poly mailer on the porch…)
I don’t have patience for over-hyped FB flash sales, but when I saw these re-posted from non-payers I was ALL over them.
Playing dress up with my baby dolls :)
Crafty time has been scarce for me lately, but here’s a few small projects I’ve managed to complete…
H’s 2012 monogrammed suit.
It’s so hard to find good quality bows with a 3 letter monogram. So you know what they say - if you want something done right…
Do it yourself! Not to mention I just have an ungodly amount of ribbon needing to be used up.
Nothing sweeter than a little girlie in a big white bow!
Knox started his first VBS of the summer this week. We were especially excited because it’s at the new school he’ll start in the fall.
The theme is Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity. Knox is in Tribe Benjamin and this is his teacher helping him in to his tunic on the first day.
He’s had SO much fun!
A few randoms of the kids I got yesterday…
SO impressed by the splash fountain while we were out running errands.
This morning we had H’s 4th hemangioma laser treatment.
Here she is after she had her Silly Juice*…
*Versed
And, boy does it make her…
“Silly.” ;)
She does so well with these now. They laugh at how awake and “happy” she is before they even get her back to Post-Op.
Here she is when she came back to me in recovery. There was something SO interesting about that ice pack.
When we got home I set her up on the couch with juice, crackers, and a show so the poor recovering baby could rest in quiet while brother was at VBS…
HA! I went to make a few calls and when I looked back up guess who’d found mommy’s box of dry erase markers and decided to decorate everything…
Walls and furniture included, but this stack would be 2 Anywhere Chairs, her BlaBla, a sweater blankie, and a romper. Who knew that dry erase marker is one of the hardest stains to get out??? The only thing that even remotely lifted it was rubbing alcohol and a lot of work. Most of it I was able to salvage, but the pink Anywhere Chair cover and the Carter’s bubble were damaged beyond repair :-/
We may be single-handedly keeping Mr. Clean Magic Eraser in business, but you tell me…
HOW I can be mad at this sweet baby when she’s still wearing her hospital bracelets??? So so innocent.
(NOT.)
The End :)

I was conversating with you on Twitter about getting the dry erase marker out, you got your hands full and I hope most if not all of it comes out for you! :)
Hi! Could you share some tips on embroidering the H's swimsuit? I bought the same suit at Target for my little girl and I think I want to monogram it now! :) Did yours have a "ruching" at the bust? Thanks in advance for any advice! :)
Love hadleys loot you got! I live vicariously through people with girls ;)
Dry erase is such a hard stain!! But they do make washable dry erase markers - after one little stain from daddy's office board I knew we had to find some before I could let him use the easel at home. They have them at target and Wal-mart.
OMG I am LOVING the smocked outfits! You can never have too many! Don't feel bad for being a lazy blogger, it takes forever to write a "real" blog post, at least for me anyway. I would love to know what process you used to monogram Hadley's bow. I have read a few tutorials, but none that seem worth trying. Also, what size ribbon did you use?
I love Hadley's monogrammed bow!!!! I too have a pe770 but have never monogrammed bows. I would love to make some for my daughter. Would you mind sharing your techniqe on the monogrammed bow? Thanks!
Oh my...may dry erase markers be the most challenging stain you ever have to face! I was reading a blog this morning of a mom who has a 7 year old with DS and she eats EVERY thing in sight whether it is supposed to be eaten or not! I just can't imagine. She had some obviously funny pics of the little girl eating dirt...but to think of all the dangerous things she could (and has) get her hands on in anyone's house...man...that would be rough! I'll take Sharpies on the walls and couch anyday!
Where did you get the mermaid bubble? Love your blog! Your kids are so cute!
I'm all about the smocked FB sales, but haven't seen the mermaid or starfish. What site are thoses from?
@Diamond Painting - Yes, this suit had the ruching on the bust but I *very carefully* picked it out with me seam ripper and you can't even tell. As far as monogramming it - I use medium weight stabalizer on the back layer, Solvy on the front, and stick them both on real good with my adhesive spray. Then I hoop everything (the suit, stabalizer and Solvy) in my 4x4 hoop and I'm able to embroider without any of the layers shifting. Then soak the Solvy in water to remove it :)
@sweetbriarj and @Meredith - The mermaid bubble is from Stellybelly, the starfish bishop is from Shrimp & Grits :)
Adorable outfits and babies. They are growing so much!
Thank you so much! I have one last question about the swimsuit before I say a prayer and go at it... Did you use a regular need or a ball point? Thanks! :)
Sorry, typo... Regular *NEEDLE
Yes a regular one :)
