Before Things Get Crazy

With “Work Week” starting on our new home Saturday and moving day next Friday, I’m not sure how much blogging I’ll get done in the next few weeks. I’m already pretty busy, but seizing a few minutes of down time to dump some thoughts and pictures… :)

For the past week I’ve been super busy contacting contractors, painters, etc. trying to find the best quotes. I was wanting to hire out the majority of the painting, but I’m pretty exhausted over trying to figure out how to the play their “games” that I’d almost rather do all the painting myself and hire out only the major things we can’t do. Getting straight forward answers from people should not be like pulling teeth! (At least that’s how I’ve felt lately…)

I started packing boxes Monday and have made great progress because the townhome is already looking pretty bare! Trying to get most of it done now, because next week I’ll be at the house overseeing work most of the time.

We’re really in to bubbles lately. In fact, it’s become Knox’s new incentive to eat dinner… Bubble Time!

I starting packing up the kitchen today, meaning last night I cooked our “last meal.” (Sandwiches and take-out from here on out!)

I came across this Mississippi Roast pin a few weeks ago. It doesn’t look like much from the pictures, but the rave reviews in the comment section had me sold.

It is SO GOOD! The meat fell apart at the lightest touch. And no, it’s not spicy at all. I don’t do spicy and I typically don’t even like pepperoncinis (the peppers you put on top) but if I hadn’t made this I would have never thought they were in there. They just gave it a good flavor.

I finally got Knox to the doctor for his 4 year check up this morning.

He got a good report! 39.5lbs (75%) and 41.5”(75%)… He also got FOUR shots and a toe prick :( I think it was even harder with him at this age than it ever was as a baby or toddler, because he knew it was coming and looked at me like How could you… So so sad. He got a chocolate shake on the way home.

That’s all I’ve got for now!

I think the 4 year old shots are the worst because they know, they remember and they look at you like... how could you?!? The recipe looks yummo and love the sailor romper on Hadley!

The four year shots are definitely the worst - lots of extra hugs and kisses for Knox :) Good luck with the move preparations! Can't wait to see more of the new house!!

Oh I dread shot time, and I can only imagine that it gets worse. Bless his little heart. Hopefully you're back on his good side =)

Hey I live in your area and know of a great painter. If you would like info just let me know! My parents have used him several times and I have no clue how his prices compare but my parent have always been very pleased.

I saw the recipe for that roast a few years ago on a blog and we have loved it. I didn't know the name was Mississippi Roast, which now helps when I plan the menu instead of just putting "That Roast" down, I can have a name!
