**We made it home this afternoon! But of course - not without some backseat drama from Knox. About halfway there he threw up chocolate milk. Everywhere… We survived the rest of the way home with a lot of help from paper towels, Wet Ones, and Glad garbage bags. That was fun… So as you can imagine, I’m buried in laundry at the moment - on top of unpacking, making a grocery list, and figuring out something for dinner. But I already had Part 2 of our Christmas posts drafted, so I figured I’d hop on and post it real quick…**
We had our first Christmas celebration Friday night with my Dad’s extended family…
H is starting to warm up to Sandy. She’s never really been around a dog before!
Oh Knox… You still have 3 more Christmases to go ;)
Knox helping MawMaw open her gifts.
Knox got a Frosty book, a bathtime Mater, a pillow pet, and an Imaginext Batmobile. Hadley got a hat and gloves and a V-Tech kitty cat toy.
We also played a fun game called Left Center Right. Every starts out with $3 and in the end 1 person gets all the money. (There were 13 players, so that was $39.)
The game is played with dice, but you can also download the app on your phone if you don’t want to buy the dice.
H made Poppy and Uncle Nick do this with her all week. They swing her back and forth and she says Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock…
I made this recipe for Graham Cracker Toffee for the first time Friday…
It only required 4 ingredients, so it was something easy for me to make and to divide in to candy tins to take to all our family.
Christmas Eve we went over to my Uncle’s house to celebrate with my mom’s extended family…
Knox and my PawPaw.
Knox had so much fun playing fetch with Spark. I think the boy needs a dog!
H with PawPaw.
Obviously - the kids were tuckered out by this point. So for the first time in my 26 Christmases I did not go to church on Christmas Eve :( I hated it, but with us being out all day I knew the kids wouldn’t make it.
My little sister got her acceptance letter to medical school on Christmas Eve! I had no doubts she’d get in…
But it was fun we were there to watch her open the letter :)
Mom made us a late Christmas Eve steak dinner. After the kids were in bed we all stayed up watching O-L-D home videos. Like circa 1986-1989. Mom is working on getting all the VHS converted to digital. I’m so glad my parents made the effort to document our childhood. It’s so surreal to be able to see yourself as a newborn/baby/toddler and compare to your own kids!
Santa made his “official” visit to Knox and Hadley last week (Part 1 and Part 2), but I can’t stand not having anything for them on the REAL Christmas. As if they’d even know…
{Knox: M&D Alphabet Express Floor Puzzle (10ft long!), Fisher Price Rescue Heroes Fireman, Mini Imaginext Plane, Clifford DVD, Mickey stickers, Space Adventures Goldfish, animal crackers, Nutter Butter Bites, Motts for Tots Fruit Snacks.}
{Hadley: Baby Stella doll by Manhattan Toy, Fisher Price Whirl ‘n Tumble Elephant, Sesame Street DVD, Baby Goldfish, animal crackers, Teddy Grahams, Motts for Tots Fruit Snacks.}
I had the floor puzzle extra at the house, so I brought that for Knox. I’d been looking for a Baby Stella for Hadley for ages, so I picked it up when I saw it at the toy store last week. And then I ran to Target while we were in TN to pick up the little extras for their stockings.
The kids actually slept in a little Sunday morning, so we were able to get up and shower before the madness began.
Those piggie tails!!!
It wasn’t much, but the kids were still excited to see that Santa visits Nana’s house too.
They were both most excited about the fruit snacks. Go figure.
She loves Baby Stella!
Next we opened gifts between my mom and siblings…
Nana got Knox a Batcave! He’s really itching to get it set up…
Hadley got a shopping cart which is absolutely perfect for her. She LOVES pushing her cart around with her baby, talking on her “phone.”
Uncle Nick got H a Sesame cell phone. I think she likes it!
Here’s what we got at mom’s. My “main” gift this year was more place settings to my everyday William Sonoma china. Which was MUCH needed. She had them shipped to the house last week so we wouldn’t have to worry about transporting them, but we also got a new panini grill. Ours broke last year so we’re super excited about that… My siblings and I draw names for gifts. My sister drew me and got a Kitchen Aid hand held mixer. I have the stand, but I put this one on my list because sometimes a handheld is just easier, and mine’s about shot.
Mom made us a big Christmas brunch…
Then we got the kids ready to make the Christmas runs…
This is H’s fake cry. But she just looks so stinkin cute doing it ;)
Looks like I’ll need to post a Part 3 to finish up our Christmas fun… I’ll get that up soon!

Congrats to your sis, so awesome! We also played LRC! It was a lot of fun BUT we played twice and the same person won both times!?! Can u believe that? She walked away with close to $100. I missed Mass this year for the first time too. We were a little under the weather. Glad y'all had a fun trip. I need to get to cracking on my Christmas posts.
Where do you get all Miss Hadley's shoes. The cute polka dot ones? They are adorable.

H's shoes are squeakers. (Except I take the squeaks out!) I've gotten them all from FB boutique sale blocks. A lot of them will do 3 for $30 deals. There are 2 kinds - horn soles and alligator soles. In my opinion, the horn soles are better quality... She'a growing so fast I hate to spend a fortune on baby shoes. But these are so cute, versatile, and at $10-12/pr you can't go wrong :)
Her shoes are super cute! Thanks for sharing the info. I will have to check it out. My little one just started walking and she loves the pair that I got for her. It is hard for her daddy to understand why she "needs" all of these shoes! This might be a dumb question, but how do you get the squeakers out?
