So Mommy got brave and let Hadley try Mother Day Out today. If you're not up to speed with this saga, I registered her to start in the 1yr old class back in the spring, but when it came time for school to start and the beginning of this month I just couldn't send her. Her birthday was August 20th, so she barely made the Sept 1st cut-off for this class. She looked so small compared to all the other kids, and what can I say… She's my baby!
Anyway - when dropping Knox off last week the director asked me if was suuure I wanted to give up her spot. There were 3 people on the waiting list for that class, but she hadn't contacted any of them yet… That started giving me second thoughts. I knew if I gave up her spot now there'd be slim chances of her getting in any time this school year.
Sooo - I told Ms. Marla we'd go ahead and pay this month's tuition and I'd let Hadley at least try it out before we pulled her out for good…
We had to get pictures this morning!
I figured I'd hold off sending her in any bishop dresses until she was a steady walker. They just get caught up when she crawls. With that in mind, I'd ordered her several cute pants sets over the summer. This madras one is my all-time favorite, from SheSheMade.
I was a mess dropping her off. I didn't cry or anything, I was just kind of anxious. I don't think we've ever been apart for more than 2 hours. Sad, but we don't have family here to keep our kids and she's never had a sitter. But we've been sending Knox for 3 years now, so I knew she was in good hands and had many eyes watching over her. I forgot to take my camera in with me but it was just as well. The drop-off was quick and easy. No tears.
I will admit - the mommy time was so nice. I went to the gym for Pilates and cardio and just enjoyed a shower and some quiet time at home. The princess was all smiles when I picked her up this afternoon and her teachers reported that she had a good day. She ate lunch and napped on her mat like a big girl. So it sounds like we're gonna keep her spot. I'm a little sad to cut some of the baby ties, but I know it will be good for her… And me :)

I know how you feel. We've lived in Northwest Arkansas since 2006, and the rest of our family lives in Dallas. We don't have anyone around here who watches our kids. I put my first in MDO when she was 2, and then when my baby turned 1, she started MDO. It was a sad day, but we survived, and momma loves the 5 hours of along time. :)
Go Hadley! First of all, she is SO cute! I'm glad she did okay. We live in Nashville with no family in TN so Grayson has only been watched a couple times by my friends. I am doing MOPS this year and he has had a really hard time with separation anxiety. He has been crying the entire 2 hours he is there. Makes my mama heart sad! Hopefully he will be like Hadley soon and be okay without me!
Way to go Momma!!! Sad to hear it's not any easier with the second. I am already anxious about the day we decide to send our baby & she is only 8 months!
Could she be any cuter in those pictures?! I think she looks a lot like brother here!
p.s. If you ever decide to sell any of your personalized "Hadley" things, I would definitely be interested :)
