Once we got back from the lake last Tuesday, we drove to Memphis and stayed with my mom. She kept us busy and our tummies full.
On Wednesday we drove out to my grandparents house to visit. Knox is usually scared of old people (he's just not around them a lot) so I was so proud when he finally warmed up to MeeMaw and PawPaw. Afterwards we grabbed some lunch at Panera Bread and headed out to the Children's Museum. Knox is at the PERFECT age for this. He had a blast!
Thursday we got up early and headed to a neat new park that has just been finished in Memphis. I think this would be heaven for any kid...
{Hot. Wet. And sandy!}
Thursday night I let Knox go spend the night at my Dad's house. That's when things got a bit sticky... I noticed Hadley was unusually fussy. Acting kind of like she did right before she was diagnosed with her double ear infections the week before. Still no fever. Just irritable. (She must take after me. I NEVER run a fever.)
So anyway I decided Thursday night to go ahead and run her in to the urgent car clinic and sure enough - the ear infections were back! They changed up her antibiotic and we were lucky enough to get in and out within 30 minutes.
That same night a little after midnight, I got a call from Dad. Uh oh... Knox was having an asthma attack and was hysterical. All I can say is THANK GOD I packed his nebulizer! I ran over there in my PJs and gave him a treatment and some Benadryl. He eventually calmed down and caught his breath, but my night was ruined. I was up every 30 minutes checking on him.
Friday Hadley and I ran a few errands and Dad got Knox again to take him out for lunch. He felt bad about their sleepover being cut short! Randomly while they were at Chik-fil-A Dad got to talking to a guy who happened to be a fireman. He told him all about Knox's current obsession with all things fireman, and the guy invited them down to the station! Knox LOVES when the firemen come to his school, so I think this must've been heaven for him. He got to play in the fire engine with the guys kids and try on the coats and hats. (Dad got pics on his phone but I'll have to have him e-mail them to me and post the with the next one...)
Anyway - we had more fun over the weekend, but I'll wait toshare that once we're home. I'm kind of exhausted thinking about today though... WE usually fly Southwest because we can get $50 flights, but they don't fly to Memphis so this means we have a 2+ hour drive to Little Rock ahead of us. A 40minute flight (which I PRAY is not delayed!). And since we land at 5 there's no telling how long it will take us to battle rush hour and get home... Not to mention I'm carrying an extra bag home with Hadley's birthday presents and I'm honestly not sure how I'm gonna get us all plus luggage from baggage claim to the shuttle. This should be interesting!
