Recovering, Cleaning & Carseats

The rest of our weekend was pretty much spent recovering from the wrath of Strep. Knox's fever broke early Saturday morning, which was a huge relief because I no longer was under constant fear of him breaking out in to a seizure at any second. But then the sore throat really set in :(

There was a lot of popsicle eating this weekend...

Hadley enjoyed a few too...

[Excuse her mohawk. Daddy thinks it's hilarious...]

Haha! SO cold. We got smart soon after this and broke the popsicle off in to peices and put it in her little mesh feeder thing.

Saturday I went in to disinfectant mode. If you can believe it - EVERY toy and sippy in this house has been sanitized. Such a pain, but I just took on the mindset that it probably needed to be done anyway. I was so good about wiping toys down when Knox was younger, but then he got big and the toys got much smaller... And grew in numbers! It seriously was a full day of bleach soaks, Clorox wipes, and Lysol.

I seized the opportunity to reorganize the toys and pull out some of the 1 year old toys...

Hadley loved that.

But I think big brother did more...

The past 3 nights have been rough ones around here. Knox has been sleeping on the blow-up mattress in our room and waking up every couple hours complaining of sore throat. I really hope that ends today, because other than that he's acting fine...

I kept him away from Hadley all day Friday and Saturday and I swear I think that was the hardest part for him. I found him like this yesterday morning. (He pulled the chairs up himself.) He missed his Sissy SO very much!

Sunday we were kind of getting cabin fever. I showered and put on mascara for the first time in I can't remember how long, and we ventured out to Sam's. They have a huge deck box we were needing to store all our outdoor toys. Hadley got to ride in her new seat in Daddy's truck...

I can tell it is so much more comfortable for her! It's a Graco MyRide65. I chose this one (a) because it coordinated with Knox's Graco Nautilus in here, and (b) because they can ride rear facing up to 40lbs. I want to keep her backwards until at least 2 years, and then beyond that she can ride in it with the 5pt harness up to 65lbs. I'm kind of a stickler on carseat safety.

{Getting a pic with them both looking is next to impossible.}

And oh yeah, it's super cute. Giraffe print cuddle fabric with pink accents. She uses so many gender-neutral hand-me-downs, I love when I can get her something that is all girly.

I had to get a pic of her in the new seat in my car too...

My Britax babies! We got both of these (Marathon and Roundabout) before Knox was born. I love them (a) because they have the highest safety ratings and they can ride in them with 5pt harnesses forever (aka - up to 65lbs). And (b) I'm obsessed with the Cowmooflage print on Hadley's. So much so that I may order a matching cover for Knox's...

And yes - I love symmetry so it makes me happy that both seats coordinate in each vehicle... #thelittlethings :)

Today I'm dead set on finishing the insane amount of laundry that one sick weekend creates. (Agh!) Then we start swimming lessons again this afternoon.

Kennedy has the MyRide65 too. I love it for all the same reasons you do!
