Oh Glorious Day!

So here's my big fat Easter post for ya... Seriously, my computer is making all kinds of wierd noises because I'm pretty sure I've uploaded way too many pics...

We always like to "get out" on Friday nights, no matter what it ends up being... So Friday night we quite randomly tried a new fish restaraunt... And I had the worst ceasar salad of my life. It's like they just poured skim milk over a bowl of lettuce and the soggy chicken strips that topped it were a far cry from "blackened"... Admittedly - I'm probably a little picky, and I guess that's what I get for ordering chicken/salad at a fish place!

We then headed on over to Costco to finally become members. We've always been Sam's members, which I still love, but it's nice belonging to both because they're each the same but different... We did a little shopping after we joined and came out with - drumroll, please...

A new jogging stroller! It's nice, but not too fancy. We're not joggers, so I couldn't figure springing for one... But this one is very light and easy to maneuver, and it also doubles as a tow-behind for the bike! (Which James has been wanting.)

I was also excited to finally get to buy the Kirkland's diapers. We've always been Huggies people (well for sizes 3 and up atleast, I still love the Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers for the smaller sizes) and these are IDENTICAL to Huggies. They're both made my Kimberly-Clark. Oh, it's the simple things...

After that excitement, we put the kids to bed and watched The King's Speech. It was actually really good! It can sometimes be tough to find something we both can enjoy - not too girly and not too raunchy humor/violent - but this one was a winner!

Saturday morning we headed up to Knox's "school" because the church was hosting their annual Easter egg hunt. They put on a little show for the kids before the big hunt...

H looked SO sweet in her crosses bishop!

I just love this girl! Sidenote: In the past few days she's started doing this thing where she'll stretch her arms out or up and start waving/flapping her hands back and forth. (I need to get it on video...) I guess she got it from me teaching her how to wave bye-bye, but she's taken it to a whole new level and it is SO stinkin cute!

We ran in to Knox's friend Ysa from school. They've been in the same class together for 2 years now and we love prissy Miss Ysa. (Y'all just have now idea. This girl has an entire set of polka dot monogrammed luggage that her Daddy lugs in to school every Tue and Thur!)

And they're off!!!

There were seriously tons of eggs, so the kids were able to hunt til they had they're fill.

Knox and Ysa teamed up!

Ugh - can she please stay this little forever????!!!

We didn't do much else Saturday. After we got the kids in bed, the Easter Bunny made his stop...

[So I went to order Hadley's PBK basket to match Knox's a few weeks ago and they were already sold out! I couldn't stand for them not to match this year so I ended up just getting these pails, which work out well because they're easier for egg hunts... And for the Easter Bunny to fill! ;) We'll try again on H's PBK basket next year...]

I really wanted to keep it low-key this year. Especially since Knox is really starting to "get" these holidays... I love an excuse to spoil my babies, but I definitely don't want to send them the wrong message of why we're celebrating... That being said, we decided to make the "main" attraction a few Disney classics that are currently out of the vault...

Knox got Bambi along with two ABC and 123 Kumon workbooks, a bathing suit and towel for the beach, animal crackers, and a little thing of Tootsie Rolls. I decided to go ahead and get him the bubble lawn mower last week so he'd have at least one thing that would be "big" to him! (He LOVES being just like Daddy these days...)

Hadley got Snow White, a new baby, the cutest stuffed Zebra ever, a towel and bathing suit (the Zebra's wearing it!), and a little box of Lilly Pulitzer animal crackers.

And then there was Easter morning...

[James put H in these PJs after he bather her last night and I about cried. She's too little for big girl PJs!!!]

So when I saw this mower put together I was afraid it would be too babyish for Knox, but he loved it so whatever!

Of course he goes for the Tootsie Rolls...

Ha! I think we could have gotten her a bucket of grass and she would have been just as pleased...

So after Easter Bunny fun we got dressed for church, and I *attempted* to get a pic of the kids, but as always we were running late...

...And Knox's hair was still wet so he looked bald and neither of them would look and smile and the same time. Story of my life...

But they looked super cute anyway!

This is what you call a LIVING DOLL!

Knox is such a great big brother... He made sure Sissy did not fall off the chair. He makes me proud :)

This was H at church. Knox went to the nursery and she stayed with us.

And of course passed out midway! I love how chunky her face gets when she's asleep!

The service was great! And of course it was MAJORLY packed, but it's nice to see people acknowledge Jesus and the truth of His sacrifice. Even if they don't every other Sunday...

After church I began prepping our Easter feast, and then we all passed out for naps. (What is it about Sundays and naps???) Anyway, our Easter dinner was delicious, complete with all the Easter staples...

Crunchy glazed ham, hashbrown casserole, 7 layer salad, and deviled eggs. I felt obligated to cook this year since last year we were in the middle of a move and ended up going out for Mexican, and we weren't going home to Tennessee this year. So even though we missed family, we still got a little taste of home... And will probably eating it every night this week. Mercy - we have us some leftovers!

Of course nothing tops off an Easter meal like a cup of coffee...

...And carrot cake a la mode! Mmmmm... I actually used a new mix by Duncan Hines (my favorite!) to make this - it came with a pouch of raisins and carrots to mix in so it tasted extra homemade. Not to mention the cream cheese icing - a MUST.

Whew - so all-in-all a good busy weekend for us! I love Easter more the older I get. I guess I can better understand/appreciate the ultimate sacrifice that was made for Us. What a wonderful thing to celebrate!

Now... It's time to get ready for ROYAL WEDDING WEEK! I'm so excited about this and I'm not sure why. William and Kate just fascinate me, and the 7 year old in me wants to host a princess PJ party for the event. Not sure how many of my friends would be willing to stay up with me though so instead I've gone through my DVR and am recording anything royal/wedding related for this week :)

Living He loved me,
Dying He saved me,
Buried He carried my sins far away.

Rising He justified,
Freed me forever.
One day He's coming back,
Oh Glorious Day!

I love the pink bishop dress...where do you like to get those @? Do you have a favorite bargain spot, or is it just sort of hit or miss? And I have to say, it's rather humorous to see pictures of H without a bow on her head...she looks like such a different little girl! :)
