I should have been a princess...

It's true. I never grew out of my Royal fascination... So without question, I stayed up to watch the Royal Wedding last night. And there were tears...

My sis was on the fence about watching, and I told her she HAD too. Our mom has always preached about Princess Di's wedding, she modeled our Christening gown after Prince William's, and of course we all mourned Diana's death... (Yes, both mom and Mandy watched last night too. M and I were actually on the phone with each other for play-by-play commentary. James LOVED that at 3am...)

That being said. I thought the Wedding was AHHHH-MA-ZING! And Oh, the fashion... I loved that it was conservative, and all the fabulous hats and hair pieces. (Can we please start a hat trend in the States???) So anyway, I'm borrowing a few pics from the Telegraph to share my thoughts on the entire thing...

The Beckham's are freakishly flawless... Although you think V could smile a bit.

Again - perfectly conservative and fashionable.

And my no-no list...

Ok - I know you're the PM's wife... But did you not get the hat memo??? #noexcuse

Oh these princesses! They are so cute, but... Yikes. I kept thinking the one on the right looked like an antelope/ram, and couldn't stand the bodice on the blue dress. Bless their hearts.

Not a fan of Chelsey Davy and I thought she didn't disappoint on the "trashiness" factor... But even besides the inappropriateness - the fit on this set is atrocious and her hair was a hot mess.

Ugh -I'll stop being mean now.

A few other RW favorites...

Weren't all the little bridesmaids and page boys adorable? I love this pic and the fact that they probably don't even know how big of a deal this is.

I want to steal her.

LOVE that Prince Harry shared a carriage with the bridesmaids. Actually, I just love Harry in general. I'm working on a master plan to break-off the Chelsey thing and hook him up with one of my sisters...

Old ladies in hats and gloves are precious! Especially Queen in her canary yellow... Second - as a mother I CANNOT imagine what is going through Carol Middleton's head right now. Like, seriously??? When you rock your baby to sleep at night who would ever imagine that they would one day be QUEEN?!?! Thirdly - I love the please-stop-talking look the Queen is giving Carmilla. ;)

Now...

Oh. My. Word.

I had no idea what look Kate would go for, but I was so relieved to find ot she picked something not-so-over-the-top, and more importantly - TIMELESS! Yet at the same time, it's just absolutely stunning...

Perfect.

I love how someone was saying she did her own make-up because she "Wanted William to recognize her..." It's things like this that make me excited for the new-age of Royals these 2 will be.

I was so holding my breath during the ceremony when the preacher said "speak now or forever hold your peace..." I love the US, but you know if that were here some extremist would yell out something crazy. Apparently the British know better. The Queen would have their head ;)

And obviously...

The KISS! ...Or kisses ;)

This looks like it's straight out of a fairy tale, right? (One of those tearing up moments for me...) Again - I love those little kids. I'm excited to think of Will and Kate someday having a few!

The view from the balcony... This is absolutely breath-taking.

James and I were discussing the plusses to having royalty in addition to Parliament. I mean, everyone can totally set aside their political views for a day and unite as one undivided country under the royalty. Pretty awesome...

There you have it. My two cents on the Royal Wedding! I've probably invested way too much interest in this, but like I said... It's fascinating :) I watched the E version last night, now I'm off to start on the BBC version I DVR'd. (Too much???)

Ahh - I just caught that while watching a second time. I think the 3am brain was making me think it was Burberry???

But, I still think it's awful :( Maybe Alberto is out to get her...

I always have that please-stop-talking look when I see Camilla. Not a fan. :)

Love the new princess! Her gown was absolutely gorgeous and I too was so glad that it wasn't over the top. I did think she could have gone for a slightly bigger bouquet though!
