They're still here, and so far we've had a great weekend... After everyone got settled in Saturday night we took them out to eat at one of our favorite new restaraunts. Ok - Memphis never had a MiMi's Cafe, but James and I have been driving by it for 2 years now debating about whether it was a Mexican or Italian place... Well we finally tried it a few weeks ago and found out we were both wrong... It's French/New Orleans style cuisine! Who would've thought... Anyway it's SO good and now we're hooked ;)
After dinner we headed back home and had a Kinect DANCE PARTY!!!
[I'd normally post pictures here... But I will spare everyone the embarassment!]
I love our Kinect so much (and I'm not a video games person). Dance Central is a blast and it was even more fun to do dance battles. James is more in to the sports games and will NEVER do dance battle with me ;) Knox loves doing it though. And actually does a pretty good job. (It's hysterical to watch!) Let's just say there were A LOT of laughs... And huffing and puffing. It's no question my next Kinect game will need to be Zumba because I have GOT to get back to working out. I feel pathetic!
Sunday we headed in to "town" for some high-end shopping ;) I love the N.P. Mall and any excuse to make the drive up that way. I didn't do any major damage this go round though. Just got a new pair of sunglasses, a few Baby Gap crawler skirts and sale items for Haddie, and some new MAC. (I am loving their tinted moisturizer paired with a little Mineralized Skin Finish powder. So casual, light, and easy!)
For dinner we headed to the other side of town for some world famous fajitas at JTG's! Love love LOVE when we have company in town and can take them here :)
I hate that these are the only pictures I've gotten all weekend...
[Hadley giving Aunt Mandy love...]
[She's been giving the BEST kisses lately ;) ]
[My Dad and Knox.]
[Mandy, Phillip, and John...]
We have more fun in store for tomorrow before they all head home Tuesday... I promise I'll get more pictures!
On a completely different note - Hadley is a mess! I mentioned she was in the "sleep fighting" stage... Well she's taken it to a whole 'nother level the past 3 or 4 nights, it's killing me! The thing is - lately she's only been getting maybe 1-2hrs of napping during the day (she usually goes for atleast 4hr total), and she's still fighting sleep to the bone at night. We were up from midnight til 3am last night just taking turns trying to soothe her, and as soon as we'd set her down - BAM, she's up again. Ugh!
Drives me crazy because (a) she's always been a good sleeper, and (b) I will be the first to admit I am NOT a good mother at 2am. I have no idea what the issue is, just really hoping this stage ends soon. I mean it HAS to. I don't know anyone who can function on 6hrs of sleep a day for 4 days straight. Much less an infant! She is her happy little self all day and when the sun goes down she turns in to the "devil in disguise"... Only kidding of course. Those are Daddy's words ;) In fact, as we speak - he is driving her around the neighborhood trying to knock her out. Ahhh, this too shall pass... RIGHT?!?!?!
I'm also gearing up for Easter. Trying to grab things for the kids' baskets whenever I can. I love that they're so little I can coordinate items they need anyway in to holiday treats ;) I'll enjoy that while it lasts... And speaking of Easter To-Do's - you know you're a mommy blogger when you create lists in unpublished 'Drafts'. (Hey - That way they don't get lost!)

LOVE, LOVE Joe T.'s. :)
Ack! Sleep issues are the worst! I don't think you asked for suggestions, but just from experience...my daughter (now 2yrs old) does NOT, and NEVER has slept well at night if she didn't get her normal naptime during the day. She reaches an overly tired and overly stimulated point, and just can't settle herself down. I never thought I would be the non-flexible, naptime must happen mommmy...but if we miss naptime, we allll miss sleeping that night too! Maybe once Hadley gets back on her normal nap schedule, she will get back to sleeping better at night as well!
Love your blog! I'm in CA and we have Mimi's here - try their corn chowder and their spice muffins - so delicious!
My daughter (same age as yours) has been doing the same thing with sleep. She used to sleep from 8 or 9 at night to 5 or 6 in the morning. Then all of a sudden, we were up SEVERAL times a night with screaming. Sometimes it takes just a few minutes to go back to sleep, sometimes more than an hour. And this has been going on for a couple months. I'm tired!! Praying Hadley gets back to a better sleep schedule much faster than mine is taking!! :)
HA! I make a list in draft too! That is the only way I will not loose it! I was wanting to ask you about sewwhat pro. I downloaded the trial and DONT GET IT! I am so lost! I have an bernina decco 330 and can use exp files. Girl, I am just lost!
happy to hear it's not just my angel having sleep issues! Mine was born in August but always been a great sleeper and in the last few months I've almost lost my mind!
