[In true form - I brought my Canon but left my SD card at home. AGH! Story of my life... Thank you, inventor of camera phones.]
We were actually torn at whether we should have Hadley "dedicated" or "Christened"... We've been to so many churches the past few years and they all do it differently. And I really do understand the reasoning behind each train of thought... But James, Knox, and I were all Christened so we decided Haddie girl should not be left out :) Either way - Jesus loves her, and I believe it's all about dedicating your child to be brought up in the way of the Lord, in front of a congregation who serves as witness. If either of our children feel led to be baptized when they (I pray) own their faith and accept Christ - we will be equally supportive and thrilled!
Basically - I just want to avoid starting a Christening vs. Dedication discussion... Just sharing our special day ;)

We are SO happy that NaNa was in town to join us! It was kind of depressing when the lady in charge ushered us to two whole rows she had 'Reserved' for us and I had to tell her we would only be needing one :( We really missed the rest of the family but luckily our church does live podcasts of their services so everyone back in Tennessee was able to join in online... LIVE! I swear, technology...

I had planned for her to wear the gown my mom had made for mine, but since we waited so long it was too small for her :( She sure looked sweet in her little white bishop and bloomers set though. Complete with her ruffled socks, white patent leathers, and [no doubt] bow! Do you think she'll let me put her in the same thing for prom???

They did her ceremony immediately after worship and she was an angel! She just stared in to the crowd with the most curious look. I almost cried. There's just nothing like hearing an entire congregation pray for your child by name... Of course, everyone thought she was just precious and came up to congratulate us afterwards ;)

Can you tell I have a little boy??? She's starts getting antsy and the only toy I could fish out of my purse was a monster truck... We need to stock up on baby dolls!

She fought sleep through the whole service but finally conked out in NaNa's arms at the end.

Despite Sleeping Beauty - we did manage to get a picture with Pastor M!

And yes...

...Hadley sported her baby pearls for the occassion! They were a little big on her wrist so I put them around her sock so we wouldn't loose them.
And when we got home I got a few better pics with my big camera...
[Please don't mind the bump on her head... We had a little uh-oh this morning!]
We love you, sweet Hadley! We are so honored to have been blessed with the opportunity to raise you up in the ways of the Lord. I pray you always have heart for Jesus and you seek first him in all you do... I'm so proud to call you mine!

how sweet! the best present a child can receive from a parent is to be brought up in the lord!! I swear hadley is wearing something almost identical to what avery wore when we had her christened(now I have it in a shadow box in her bathroom), and on that day I was thinking I wonder how long I will be able to convience her that all the cool kids wear smocked bishops when they are 18 ha!!
What an AMAZING reason to celebrate. I second the previous post word for word :)
I love.love.love what Hadley is wearing, but also love your dress! So very pretty, where is it from?
Congratulations Hadley and fam!
Thanks y'all!
Lori - of all places I ended up finding the dress at Marshall's and paired it with a cradigan, leggings, and pumps from Target :)
Hadley's outfit is adorable! I just love her wardrobe. Haha! Congratulations! It's such a special thing when parents dedicate their babies to God!
