Purse-Sized Prayer Journals

Hope everyone's Super Bowl weekend was as fun as ours was! I'll post more on that soon, but I wanted to do a quick one on our February MOPS craft...

I missed the meeting this morning, but still sent supplies for a cute craft...

Purse Prayer Journals!

At least that's what I call them because I think they are perfect for jotting down verses and prayer requests on-the-go, but you can use the for lists or whatever...

What you'll need...

mini composition notebooks (2 for $1 at Target)
cute fabric
Wonder Under or Heat-n-Bond (you'll want the strong hold)
an iron
scissors
hot glue gun
embellishments (ribbon, buttons, etc.)

1. Cut out one piece of Wonder Under that is just big enough to cover the front and back of your notebook. Cut a piece of fabric just larger than the WU.

2. Fuse the WU to the back side of your fabric piece with an iron according to the WU instructions. (I usually press a hot iron down for about 8 seconds...)

3. Peel paper backing from your fused WU. You'll notice a shiny adhesive on the back of your fabric. Place fabric around the cover of your notebook, making sure the shiny adhesive part covers all parts...

4. Press down with a hot iron (again - about 8 seconds) to fuse fabric to notebook cover. Do the front, binding, and then the back.

5. Trim excess fabric around notebook with a good pair of scissors.

6. Embellish how you see fit! I hot glued a strip of ribbon around the front and back, and then glued a button on front.

So easy - this is a project that's great for all ages!

I got several cute fabric choices for our MOPS moms, and just to save time/resources - I had them all cut to the right size with the WU already fused. That way they could just choose their fabric and start at step 3.
