2 weeks of catching up...

Is it seriously November already??? I can't believe it! It's almost turkey time and that means it's almost Christmas time! I hope everyone got out and voted yesterday. Let's get this country back on track, right? how blessed are we to live in a place where we get a say!

I think it's been like 2 weeks since I actually did any kind of up-date, so I'm just gonna kind of go down the list here and try to touch on everything...

{1} Knox

Oh I can't get enough of this kid! 2 1/2 is SUCH a funny age. He's doing really well talking in sentences so it's a riot to finally get a peek at what goes through that head of his... For instance - he's ALL about Daddy's truck right now. All day he begs for a ride. And when I pick him up from school and we walk out to the car, he'll stop and say No Mama, DADDY'S truck! Ahahaha! I guess to fully appreciate this you'd have to know that I drive a 10+ year old Blazer and we creak and squeak all over town. (But hey - it's paid for!) So compared to that, I'm sure Daddy's big shiney Dodge is MUCH more appealing to a little boy!

He's also doing REALLY well with his potty training. We try to make him go every hour or so and he goes on command. (He'll say I WIN!!! and then flush saying Bye-bye Potty...) Sometimes he'll even tell us he needs to go. I think it's just gonna take a few accidents in big boy underwear to finally get it. I just need to get brave enough to take that on...

I made a very important purchase last week at Home Goods. Meet our time-out chair...

Or when I was little it was the Pouting Chair. He is just SOOOO at that trying age and up until now we haven't had a designated "time-out" spot. Well problem solved - I thought this would be kind of cute (esp for $14!) and not too comfy for little bottoms so I placed it in the most uninteresting corner I could think of. It's still kind of a novelty at this point though. AKA: He loves it. I caught him the other day sitting in it reading his Veggie Tales bible and thought What a great idea! So the VT Bible is staying in the time-out corner for those times when he could use a little Jesus ;)

{2} Hadley

Oh she's just as sweet as ever. Still tiny but starting to look like a bouncing baby girl as oppossed to a newborn. She is SO interactive. I can't get anything done because I just wanna talk and laugh with her all day!

She's starting to do more "big baby" things like the other day she started knocking one of the toys on her play gym with her fist. She can play! She's also sitting in her Bumbo more and we've even put her in the Jumperoo, although it'll be a few more inches and pounds until her little feet will be able to touch the floor.

I'll let the pictures do the talking for her...

[Helping Mom with laundry.]

[Playing "airplane" on my knees.]

[Snoozing in my spot after her breakfast.]

{3} James and Me

James seems to finally be on the mend from what turned out to be a month long battle of pleurisy. And he's still keeping busy with work...

I officially met my pre-pregnancy weight yesterday. And was actually 2lbs under! Don't get me wrong - this thrills me to no end, but I still have some work to do in the toning department before I'll feel back to my old self... I bought some 3lb weights the other day and am trying to convince James to start P90X with me. At least the abs, arms, and legs ones.

Now for something random yet interesting... I ALWAYS have dreams of planes crashing. I'm never in them, I'm just standing outside somewhere, I see a plane, it starts to plummet down and everytime I'm like Oh my gosh, is that plane about to crash? Is this really going to happen??? I can't even do anything about it I just have to watch!

I'm serious - I have these dreams about once every 3 or 4 months (at least from what I remember) - my most recent one being 2 nights ago. Well I figured there just had to be something behind it. This is the only recurring dream I've ever had. So I got online and did some research on dream interpretation (reluctantly because I was scared it was gonna tell me I've lost my mind or something.), and ironically found LOTS of info on plane crash dreams. All basically saying the same thing...

You spend a lot of time worrying and fretting over things you can't control.

WOW. Convicted, much? It is SO me to expect myself to fix everyone and everything and I can definitely see how this dream correlates to that. Like I said the most predominent feeling as I'm watching these planes crashing is Oh my gosh, I can't do a thing about it!!! Am I the only wierdo out there who has this dream? Isn't it interesting how the human psyche works?!?

{4} House

We've gotten several things done on the house in the past few weeks. I repainted the half bath. It was dark purple when we moved in with a wall paper border, and I redid it in what I thought was gonna be kind of a "serengeti sunset" color. Um no. With the light in that room it looked just like orange sherbert. YIKES!

So I finally got it redone using the same color I put in our kitchen and it looks much more like what I was going for. I just need something pretty for over the toilet.

And I mentioned while my mom was in town she helped me repaint the dining room...

Kind of empty and not much to look at right now, but I promise it looks much cleaner than before!

Aaannnndddd... Our living room furniture came in last week! (Haven't gotten pics yet, but Hadley is sitting on the chair in the pic where she's helping me fold laundry...) I'm still trying to get used to having somewhere to sit ;) We're still waiting on a rug and end tables. but I really do like it so far. Makes me want to get that room painted and finished out!

{5} MOPS

So we had our November MOPS meeting this past Monday. We had the sweetest older lady come to speak to us about carving out a daily quiet time with God when you have little ones. Oh do I need help in that area! She was so inspiring though.

I also succeeded once again in providing a craft project that everyone seemed to enjoy...

Rosette headbands! If you remember I was talking about how I was wanting some of these for the fall, so yes - that's the main reason I settled on this project ;) They were actually fairly inexpensive and easy for those of all skill levels. Sure beats the $10-15 a pop these things can sell for!

I  had to make one for Haddie of course, and here's the second one I did for myself...

I have so many fabric scraps I'm thinking I'm gonna do many more of these. I kinda want one with 3 rosettes on it...

Love the babe pics! Your house seems to be coming together nicely--can't wait for pics! Also, we need the instructions for those headband badboys--too cute. Most importantly, I just had to tell you that I have that same dang dream--probably 4 times a year or so. I also (not as often) dream that I'm merging onto an exit ramp without guard rails and the car topples over the edge. I'm in this car though. But I always see the plane crash as an observer. Weird. I know. But the plane dream decoded seems to make sense! Thanks for doing the research :)

I have those same airplane dreams too but in mine there are choppers that crash along with the planes. I have a dream book somewhere but haven't been able to find it for some time now, it's lost in the house I suppose. The headbands came out super cute & so did the kids' Halloween costumes! (:

Aww it was nice reading about what's been going. I couldn't help but laugh about Knox and how he flushes his potty bye-bye. Too precious! Does he wave? That'd be hilarious. If he waves, please record it and share with us ;) Hahaha!

You have a beautiful family, really. I love the headbands y'all made!
