Now for The Scoop...
- We are due in August. I'm 12+ weeks.
- We found out Christmas Eve. (I just love being able to keep it ourselves for a while... I kept Knox hush-hush for 24 weeks!) I was totally NOT expecting a positive test, and well... Merry Christmas! I woke James up that morning with the words "Santa came a little eary..." You can guess what he found in his stocking. And remember my cross pendant he gave me on Christmas Eve even though we'd promised each other NO PRESENTS, and how I said there was 'more to that story'? Well, he went out and bought that for me that morning. All-in-all, most definitely a welcomed little suprise :)
- I had my second check-up/sono yesterday, and [PRAISE HIM] we got another healthy report and some great views. Baby is ACTIVE, measurements are good, looking like a baby, sucking his/her thumb, and we're about 80% sure we know the gender! But it's still early, so we'll wait until next month's sono to confirm and share :)
[I know what you're thinking... Does this chick get a sono everytime? No nothing is wrong, but lucky for me I have an OB who believes in spoiling his nurse patients. Particularly the ones he has to hand his sick babies off to. (He delivers at the hospital I work at. Makes things interesting!) So - monthly sonos it is, and I couldn't be happier! Not to mention he's promised to make the birth, so no on-call docs ;) ]
- How am I feeling??? EXHAUSTED! Definitely a different story when you're pregnant AND mommy to a toddler. But I will say that it DOES make the weeks go by faster... A little more nausea this time around, but it seems to be easing up. And just like with Knox - I have TONS of food aversions. I've been eating a whole lot of just plain Cheerios and toast.
- Instinctively - I'd probably say I'm hoping for a girl just because I've never had one, and how fun are they to buy for?! And cheerleading, dance, hairbows... Agh! But when I honestly think about it - I'd take another sweet boy in a heartbeat! Giving Knox a brother so close in age would be priceless, I have MANY cute boy names picked out (not so much girls), and let's face it - boys love their mommas :) So boy or girl - we're excited to welcome either - as long as we get a healthy little baby!
- Not showing yet. I didn't with Knox until a good 24-25 weeks. But I have lost that hour-glass waist line already. I guess things move a little faster the second go round. I'm not a fan of this stage because it's like 'Is she pregnant, or did she just eat one too many donuts?' Ugh... Just go ahead and bring on the bump!
I just had to laugh yesterday because I think some of you had already figured it out but were just too polite to say anything! My friend Cassie was like - Um yeah, I was wondering what was up with all those naps! And then a few weeks ago I thought I'd be cute and post this...
At the very end of my blog to see if anyone noticed... They did! :)
I also just added the official "Ticker" down there as well...

I don't know how you have kept it hush hush so long. I am terrible with secrets!
Yay congrats!!! What a great Christmas present!!!
Congratulations! How exciting! I have two boys close in age also and was pregnant and taking care of a toddler myself, it was definitely exhausting! I loved being able to give my first son a little brother pretty close in age. Now they are 2.8 years old and almost 10 months old and they are the best of buddies it is so adorable! Although hairbows would've been fun, I wouldn't have it any other way. By the way I noticed your stick family a while back but figured I missed a blog post or something! ha!
Congratulations!! I bet ya'll will have tons of fun preparing for a second precious child!!
