what we've been up to lately...

Well I hope everyone's had a great week so far. Ours has been kind of up and down. Knox had 2 GREAT days at MOPS on Monday and MDO on Tuesday. He didn't want to leave either! And James and I got in two work-outs in at the gym. But last night about an hour after we put our happy little man to bed, he woke up with fever and screaming in pain :( Needless to say, it was a looong night for us. And even though we took turns sleeping and tending to Knox, none of us were able to get any good sleep in.

He's still feverish today, but he's gotten 2 naps in so far so at least he's catching up on sleep! In fact he went down for his second one right after we bathed him, so I definitely just put him in the crib bare-bottomed! Yeah, I had mess to clean afterwards, but he SLEPT! Ha! I'm thinking (hoping) this is just a nasty combo between a virus and constipation... So I've self-prescribed 'rest, pedialyte, and glycerine suppositories' in hopes of avoiding the pedi's office... Fingers crossed! Sick babies are NO fun :(

And apart from a few gift cards - I was able to finish up our Christmas shopping these past few days. I was also able to find a few things for myself. (Imagine that...) My most favorite recent buy has got to be the Favorite Boyfriend jeans from American Eagle...
(Yes, that's me taking a picture of my butt in the bathroom mirror. Just wanted to be sure y'all got the FULL effect. Ha!) But seriously - I hardly ever go in to AE anymore, but these jeans were $30 well spent. They are super comfortable and easy to move in. A great alternative to sweat pants when cleaning and decorating around the house! In fact, I've worn them so much since Saturday that they look a little slouchier than usual in the above pic ;)

And then when I was in Kohl's last night they had their 4ft pre-lit trees (the same one that's on our porch) on sale for $15 so I decided to pick one up for Knox's room. I went with a blue, green, and brown theme and I think it's pretty darn cute...

And speaking of Knox - the child LOVES music. And not the baby kind... In fact when we were in TN for Thanksgiving he used the MP3s on mommy's phone to show off his dance moves for the family... Someone mentioned the fact that he needs a "baby iPod", and what-do-you-know Aunt Erin found one at Tuesday Morning the next day! Well we transferred some jams to it when we got back home, and it was a HUGE hit. I tried to post a video, but for some reason it's just not uploading??? But that thing has gone EVERYWHERE with us since. We just need to get some 'cleaner' versions of his songs on there... Haha!

I've also been doing a little redecorating recently. I finally got our larger prints from our Charm Me session (click link for more from session) framed, so I had to do a little rearranging to accomodate for them on our walls...
I actually bought those first 2 large frames at Michael's for $14 and $20, took out the glass, and painted and texturized the plain white mattes... Who says you need custom framers, huh? Haha, sooo cheap I know, but I think they turned out cute! ...And I'm obsessed with the sepia-tone story board (bottom). Thanks, Carleen!!! And I redid the wall in my kitchen by adding more crosses (5 for $10 at Kirkland's) and putting our family portrait up.

In other news - Knox moved from the high chair to a big-boy booster this week...
You can't tell it here (he's sick, remember), but he loves being SOOO big :)

So anyway, now I need to buckle-down and get our Christmas cards out, and I'm thinking of making my first batch of cut-out cookies tomorrow. Pending how much sleep we get tonight, of course. PRAY FOR US!!!
